Residential Development

-
Highways & Drainage Infrastructure Services
Bettridge
Turner & Partners has designed and supervised the highways and
drainage infrastructure works for a new residential development
at Fairford Leys in Aylesbury. Much of the site is in the old flood
plain of the Bear Brook which flows into the River Thame. Hence,
major flood protection measures have been constructed, which included
the reprofiling of three water courses and the provision of a new
flood compensation area.
The development
includes approximately 1900 houses, and £15.5million of infrastructure
works are being constructed in three phases:
Tranche
I covers 26 hectares of land and infrastructure works cost
£6million
Tranche II covers 24 hectares of land and infrastructure
works cost £6.5million
It is estimated that Tranche III will cover 13 hectares
of land and that the cost of infrastructure works will be £3million.
Similar projects undertaken include:
- Haywards Heath, West Sussex
- Northfleet, Kent
