Green Travel Plan for
Homebase at St Albans
-
Transport Planning Services
Bettridge
Turner & Partners have prepared a Green Travel Plan (GTP) on
behalf of Homebase Limited for its new D.I.Y store at Griffiths
Way, St Albans.
The
new store, which has a floor area of 62,240 sq ft plus a 20,000
sq ft garden centre, was granted planning permission in August 2001.
The consent was subject to a Section 278/106 Agreement, which amongst
other obligations, required Homebase to prepare a GTP and secure
its approval prior to occupation.
The
primary objective of the GTP is to facilitate and encourage modes
of transport to Homebase other than the private car, in accordance
with national and local planning and transport policies.
Working closely with Homebase,
BTP prepared the GTP and obtained Hertfordshire County Council’s
approval of the plan in time for the opening of the store in May
2002.
