Environmental Consultancy, EIA & Ecology

King Environmental was established as the environmental division of Bettridge Turner & Partners in January 2000, and now has a well established track record in Environmental Consultancy, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Ecology.

The EIA Regulations, first introduced to the UK in 1988, were substantially revised in 1999, requiring more developments to be subject to EIA. King Environmental has led a number of EIA projects and has contributed specialist studies to many more. We have our own network of specialist consultants and can provide specialist reports on most environmental issues including noise, air quality, flooding, contaminated land, landscape, ecology, archaeology and built heritage. We have developed particular specialisms in visual and ecological impact assessment. The practice has now prepared visual assessments for more than a dozen tall building proposals in central London and docklands.

Our specialist ecological consultancy service has assisted landowners and developers in securing development on the one hand, whilst establishing the principles for conservation on the other. We undertake surveys for protected species, negotiate with the conservation authorities and carry out mitigation under licence from DEFRA or English Nature, as appropriate.

Our depth of knowledge enables us to provide a comprehensive service from the planning and feasibility stages, through to detailed design. We are responsive to our clients' needs, and continually monitor and develop our business, whilst maintaining a cost-effective service.
