Road Safety Audits

As specialists in infrastructure design, BTP have been carrying out Road Safety Audits on a variety of new and improvement schemes since the publication of the DTLR Standards in 1994. Our Safety Audit Teams are led by Robin Welland at our Droitwich office, who has extensive experience of infrastructure design, construction and auditing.

Schemes are independently audited at various stages from feasibility through design to post construction. BTP has introduced an internal audit process for much of its design work, before being requested to by the adopting authority to ensure that designs put forward have taken into account safety considerations.

Our experience includes auditing of local traffic calming schemes, new access arrangements, traffic signals, pedestrian crossings and major link and distributor roads including trunk roads. Schemes from as little as £10,000 up to several million pounds.
